For the Always our Children Pastoral message:

Always Our Children

As mentioned this past week at Mass, here is the Pastoral letter from the US Bishops for Parents with Homosexual Children and Pastoral Ministers entitled “Always Our Children”.

Please let us know if you are in need of any further information or resources,

With Peace

Fr. David

The efforts and initiatives of the parish toward building a Christian community through welcome and hospitality. This component includes the connection of the parish to the larger community through involvement in inter-faith programs, city and local government, and community affairs.

Social Committee
Make a U-turn and enter the St. Frances’ “fun-zone”. Our social committee is in need of fun-loving people to assist in planning activities for all ages. Some of the exciting things we have done in the past are our annual parish picnic, our Halloween “trunk or treat” night, Mother’s Day luncheon, St. Frances Feast Day celebrations, Sock Hop dance, Casino Night and many more cool things. It’s time to start planning again for the next year. For further details, call 909-797-2533.

NEW Welcome Committee
Our new Welcome Committee will create ways to personally welcome each and every new member of our parish. This will include mailings, phone calls and some personal visits. Do you have a spirit of hospitality?? If so, contact 909-797-2533.

Young Adult Ministry
The young adult ministry here at Saint Frances strives to enrich the lives of our young adults and those around us. Anyone between the ages of 18-30 is encouraged to join us for fellowship, service and prayer. Opportunities to serve our brethren include beach clean-ups, yard and house clean-ups for our wise elders and other service projects. We also get together for fun and fellowship throughout the year. This ministry is still evolving and you are encouraged to join in the process. For more information please contact Alex Amor at 909-709-1855.

Senior Adult Ministry
Senior Adult Ministry means many different things to many different people; bingo, brownies and bus trips; fellowship and retreat opportunities. Senior Adult Ministry is the creation and execution of spiritual development activities, opportunities, and exercises all designed to enrich the connection of the Senior Adult with God.

Such opportunities must be personal, practical, and relevant if they are to be maximally effective with Senior Adults. Senior Adult Ministry needs to be directed to the person of the Senior. We must deal with the issues of everyday life, for it is here in the folds of our daily rituals, or common schedules, our everyday interactions where we find the residence of God. This is particularly true of Senior Adults.

Senior Adult Ministry must deal with:

  1. The personal service issues of care and compassion.
  2. The social issues of peace and justice.
  3. The spiritual issues of prayer, good will, wholeness, virtue expression, altruism and soul development.

Spiritual and faith development is life-long; it does not end at any particular age or life stage. Please contact Margo at ext. 225 or for further details.

Ministry of Softball
Join our co-ed and men’s teams to experience the thrill of competition, but mostly a spirit of fun! All are welcome to come for a good practice and workout every Saturday morning at 8 A.M. at 7th St. Park. Contact Eric Paulson for details at 795-7372

NEW Mommy and Me
Finally, a place for Moms and their small children. Now meeting weekly, all moms with small children can share faith, pray together, go on outings, and offer educational and craft activities for pre-school aged children. Contact Karen at 909-570-9414 or Ann Marie at 909-658-5291 for details.
